How Salem Sweeper collects consent for text alerts

How it works

Salem Sweeper users who want to receive SMS alerts must take the following steps inside their account settings at salemsweeper.com/account:

Enter their mobile phone number in the SMS alerts section.
Check a required consent checkbox (shown below) before submitting.
Receive a 6-digit verification code via SMS and enter it to confirm ownership of the number.
Purchase a $9.99/year subscription to activate alerts.

SMS alerts are not activated until all four steps are completed. Consent cannot be bypassed — the form will not submit without the checkbox checked, and the server rejects submissions that omit consent.

The following UI is presented to users when they add a phone number in account settings:

Opt-out

Users can opt out at any time by:

Replying STOP to any SMS from +1 (833) 632-2488
Removing their phone number in account settings at salemsweeper.com/account
